HARMONY — A Connecticut man lost the fingers of his left hand in a crash on Saturday, police said.
Glenn Bussell, 79, of Bristol, Conn., was driving a 2003 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck south on Wellington Road toward Harmony village about 4:30 p.m. when he veered off the road and flipped the truck twice.
“While the truck was flipping over, the driver’s left arm was out of the truck, causing the arm to be crushed and the fingers on said arm to be lost,” Detective Lt. Carl Gottardi of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department said Monday.
Bussell was taken to Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan and later to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
Gottardi said speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash. He said the case will be reviewed by the District Attorney’s Office.
