In the new children’s book “Dog Gone” (AuthorHouse), author Jim Parrish draws on his own experiences owning dogs to present a heartfelt story of pet love and loss, teaching young readers about perfect love.
“Dog Gone” is the story of two dogs, Max and Kadjo, who meet in Heaven. They speak to each other, discussing their lives and the family they had come from, and discover again the unique place that dogs have in human society.
Parrish notes the increased attention given to pets in recent years, especially dogs, as one of the reasons behind this story.
“They become special members of the family,” he says in a new release. “Their deaths are devastating.”
Parrish lives with his wife on a small island off the coast of Maine.
