BOSTON, Mass. — Second Lt. Brendan J. Weed of Winslow recently graduated from Northeastern University. He graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in sociology.
Weed began at Northeastern in 2008 and contracted as a cadet into the Liberty Battalion Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. He recently served as the battalion executive officer acting as the battalion’s chief of staff and supervising all logistical support.
During his time at Liberty Battalion, he graduated from the U.S. Army Airborne School, U.S. Army Air Assault School and U.S. Army Mountain Warfare School.
Weed’s first assignment will be Ft. Carson, Colo., as an infantry platoon leader. He is scheduled to attend the infantry basic officer leadership course followed by ranger school at Ft. Benning, Ga.
