TOPSHAM — Senior Shyler Scates pitched a complete-game three-hitter to lead Erskine to a 4-0 win against Mt. Ararat in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference baseball action Monday. Scates threw 78 pitches, struck out eight and didn’t walk a batter.

The Eagles got timely hitting. In the first inning, Ryan Pulver and Scates each singled home runs. John Suga doubled home Keith Cloutier in the second and Tom Grady doubled and scored on Jory Humphrey’s base hit in the fifth.

Erskine is 3-2, Mt. ararat is 2-3.

Gardiner 9, Medomak Valley 1: Freshman Josh McKelvey pitched his second complete game of the season to lead the Tigers to the KVCA B win in Gardiner.

McKelvey, who threw 73 pitches, allowed six hits, fanned four and hit a batter. The Tigers (4-2) took advantage of six Medomak Valley (2-2) errors in scoring six time sinthe first three innings. Brnadon Chaput had two hits and two RBIs while Aaron Toman drove in two runs and Dennis meehan scored tewice.

Cony 5, Brunswick 1: Winning pitcher Zach Lachance had a pair of doubles and scored three runs to lead the Rams in Brunswick.

Lachance struck out six and allowed just three hits to earn the win. He walked just one. Taylor Carrier added an RBI single for Cony as well.

Brunswick dropped to 0-6.

Messalonskee 1, Skowhegan 0: Senior Sam Dexter was hit by a pitch in the fifth inning and scored on a single by Josh Woodward to lead the Eagles to the KVAC A win in Waterville.

Patrick Breton got the win while Travis St. Pierre recorded a save. Messalonskee is 3-2, Skowhegan is 1-3.

St. Dom’s 5, Hall-Dale 4: The Saints scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on their way to a Mountain Valley Conference win over the Bulldogs in Auburn.

Caleb Dostie doubled for the Saints, who improve to 5-1.

Kurt Thiele had two signles and two RBIs for the Bulldogs (2-1). Nick Sinclair added a triple for Hall-Dale.

Dirigo 17, Monmouth 2: Dirigo scored 10 runs in the third inning and capitalized on 11 Monmouth errors to earn the MVC victory.

Tyler Frost had two hits and as two RBIs and Caleb Turner had a double for the Cougars (5-1). Cody St. Germain had a pair of hits for Dirigo.

Monmouth dropped to 1-2.

Maranacook 12, Mt. View 11: Tucker Whitman hit an RBI double in the bottom of the seventh, then scored on an RBI double by Eben Ballard as the Black Bears rallied to a beat the Mustangs in an KVAC B game in Readfield.

Both Whitman and Ballard finished with two doubles and a single while Nick Lacasse added two singles for Maranacook (4-1).

For Mt. View (2-4). Adam Higgins singled three times and Tyler McCormick twice.
