WATERVILLE — Maine Hospice Education Day is set for 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at Thomas College.
This event is for anyone interested in hospice and quality end-of-life care as well as bereavement support.
The keynote address will be given by Dr. Maria Sirois. Thirty workshops covering a wide variety of topics will be offered. Presentations include Ethics at End of Life by Dr. Thomas Keating, Cultivating Meaningful Conversations to Guide End of Life Care by Dr. Elizabeth Hart, Compassion Fatigue by Sarah Firth, Spiritual Care at End of Life by Chaplain Julianne Bousquet, Advanced Symptoms Management by Jackie Fournier, Singing My Story-Finding My Heart Song by Ellen Bowman, as well as several self-care sessions of Zumba, yoga and massage.
Maine Hospice Education Day is an annual event hosted by Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area; Healthreach Hospice Volunteers of Kennebec Valley and Hospice Volunteers of Somerset County, Inc.
