With the rising popularity of healthier diets, Kathryn Bernier knows that “The Little Veggie Cookbook: Recipes from a Maine Farmers’ Market” (published by iUniverse) will find success. One of the aspects of this book that sets it apart from ot her cookbooks, is the anecdotes and tips about preparing these foods and herbs, as well as growing them. Each recipe is a proven family success, collected from the fertile testing grounds of the Brunswick farmer’s market.

“The Little Veggie Cookbook is full of recipes sprinkled with anecdotes, an herbal chart and a smattering of useful growing tips for vegetables,” Bernier said in a news release. “It is a nice gift for a new bride, a house warming, your sister or yourself.”

Bernier is one of 10 children born and raised on her grandfather’s farm in Maine. Her love of gardening inspired her to take a master gardener’s class and seek work on a local farm. She is the fifth generation to farm the family land, where she raises vegetables and perennials.
