AUGUSTA — Christopher Maloney of Augusta has written a children’s book, “Two Pennies: A Living History Mystery,” and will donate a portion of book sales to the Lithgow Public Library capital campaign to expand and renovate the library.

The mystery-thriller story is set at the library and tells the story of two amateur detectives searching for the truth about the Masons, the Knights Templar and a mysterious ghost boy, as they learn about events in Augusta’s past, according to a news release.

Maloney partnered on the project with his 100-year-old grandfather, Roy LeRoy. Illustrations are by 12-year-old artist Tessa Gervais.

Augusta resident publishes first book

AUGUSTA — Milton F. Huntington, 80, of Augusta, has published his first book, “A Lifetime of Laughter.”

The book features Huntington’s Musings columns and reminisces about Augusta, close encounters with celebrities and politicians, hunting and fishing yarns and pratfalls and puns, according to a news release.

Huntington, a former Kennebec Journal reporter and photographer, retired after 28 years with the Maine Petroleum Association, following employment with the Maine Department of Economic Development and Maine Highway Safety Committee. He has been published nationally in America In WWII, Good Old Days and Antique Trader, and his articles have appeared in Up North and North Country magazines. He is married to the former Lillian Munn of Reading, Mass., and has three grown children, Charles Huntington, Tom Huntington and Susan Schofield, and four grandchildren.
