State Police say they now suspect foul play caused the disappearance of a Florida firefighter who vanished Feb. 16 in Maine after driving to the Bangor area to visit a friend.
State Police and Bangor detectives have been searching a home in Jackson this weekend, which they believe may be the last place Jerry Perdomo, 31, of Orange City., Fla., was seen.
The home on Hadley Mill Road is owned by the father of David Porter, 24, of Bangor, who along with his girlfriend, Cheyanne Nowak, 25, may have been the last people to see Perdomo, police said.
Porter and Nowak were found and interviewed in Connecticut by detectives. The two are now back in Maine.
This afternoon Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Pubic Safety, said the police have impounded three vehicles during the investigation, including the rental car Perdomo was driving when it was found in a Bangor Wal-Mart parking lot.
They’ve also impounded a car left behind at an Oakland car dealership by Porter and Nowak after buying another vehicle there. The third car was a separate vehicle owned by Porter.
Police also searched a dumpster at the Hannaford store in Bangor near Wal-Mart. Evidence from the search of the Jackson house will be analyzed by the State Police crime lab, McCausland said.
He didn’t elaborate on the nature of that evidence.
Pedermo was last seen wearing a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt, shorts and black sneakers. He is described as 5-feet, 11-inches tall and about 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
State police are asking anyone with information about Perdomo’s disappearance to call them at 624-7076.
