SOUTH CHINA — Shyler Scates scored 18 points to lead Erskine Academy past Oxford Hills 58-52 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A boys basketball game Friday night.

Scates nailed three 3-pointers in the second quarter as the Eagles (4-2) rallied to get back in the game. Tom Grady added 16 points for Erskine while Devin Duncan had 11 and Tyler Belanger 10.

Oxford Hills (1-5) was led by Ryan Godin with 11 points.

Gardiner 53, Mt. View 36: Tyler Jamison had eight points as the Tigers beat the Mustangs in a KVAC B game in Thorndike.

Jake Palmer and Aaron Toman had seven points each for Gardiner (6-1).

Jalen Babin had 11 points for Mt. View (2-4).

Nokomis 66, Lincoln Academy 55:
Ethan Pearl scored 14 points as the Warriors beat the Eagles in a KVAC B game in Newport.

Spencer Hartsgrove added 13 points for Nokomis (5-1). Devon Chambers and Andrew Cartwright chipped in with 12 each.

Jalen Lincoln had 15 points and Dylan Leavitt 12 for Lincoln (2-5).

Waterville 55, Morse 32:
Four players scored in double figures as the Purple Panthers defeated the Shipbuilders in Waterville.

Michael Bailey and Josh Gormley each scored 11 points for Waterville (4-3), while Max Brown and Justin Jabar had 10 apiece. Brown added nine rebounds and Chris Hale dished out six assists.

Matt Munster led Morse (2-5) with seven points.

Forest Hills 61, Buckfield 46:
Evan Worster had 29 points and 12 rebounds as the Tigers beat the Bucks in an East-West Conference game in Buckfield.

Derick Ouellette added nine points and 15 rebounds for Forest Hills (4-2), while Matt Turner had 10 points.

Cody Barker had 16 points and Alan Hedrick had 15 for Buckfield (1-4).

Medomak Valley 62, MCI 25: Isaac Greenrose scored 25 points as the Panthers cruised to a win over the Huskies in Pittsfield.

Shane Osier added 10 points for Medomak valley (6-1).

Trey Vintiner had 12 points for MCI (0-6).

Skowhegan 46, Messalonskee 42: The Indians outscored the Eagles 17-4 in the second quarter then held on for the KVAC win. Levi Barnes led the winners with 19 points while Gage Landry paced the Eagles with 20.

Skowhegan is 2-4, Messalonskee is 1-5.

Richmond 52, Seacoast Christian 30: Ben Carver had 15 points and eight rebounds to lead the host Bobcats to the Class D win. Kade Strout added 10 points and nine rebounds for Richmond (2-3).

Logan Archer scored eight points to lead Seacoast Christian (1-4).

Boys hockey

Edward Little 5, Waterville 1: In Auburn, Jared Pelletier scored three goals to lead the Red Eddies to the Class A win.

Brendan Dyer and Drew Lupardo added goals for EL while Ben Roy scored for Waterville.

Cody Thibodeau made 25 saves in goal for Waterville (0-6-0) while Allen Nelson had 30 for Edward Little (2-2-1).

Girls basketball

Oxford Hills 58, Erskine 46: Alex Rowe and Abbie Westman each had 13 points as the Vikings beat the Eagles in a KVAC A game in South Paris.

Kelsey Deblois added 10 points for Oxford Hills (3-3).

Mery Bond had 11 points for Erskine (1-5). Sierra Tjelmeland added eight points and eight rebounds for Erskine.

Waterville 53, Morse 37: Ashleigh Gagne had 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead the host Purple Panthers to the KVAC B win.

Lauren Crane added six points and 11 rebounds for Waterville (3-4) while Jenna Gagnon chipped in with 14 points.

Morse (3-4) was led by Katie Henrickson with 11 points and Tori Field with 10.

Medomak Valley 51, MCI 25: Alana Vose scored 19 points as the Panthers beat the Huskies in a KVAC B game in Pittsfield.

Ashley Kitchin scored 13 points for MCI (1-5).

Mallory Conary had nine points for Medomak Valley (5-2).

Gardiner 52, Mt. View 21: Kelsey Moody and Kelley Macomber each had eight points as the Tigers beat the Mustangs in a KVAC A game in Thorndike.

Delainey Kein had six points for Mt. View (0-6).

Gardiner improves to 7-0.

Nokomis 74, Lincoln Academy 14: Kelsie Richards scored 16 points as the Warriors cruised to a KVAC B win in Newcastle.

Anna MacKenzie added 12 points and Kyle Richards nine for Nokomis (6-0).
Lincoln falls to 0-7.
