KETTLE KICKS OFF: Salvation Army Major Norman Garcia plays the coronet during the kickoff to the Salvation Army’s annual kettle campaign Wednesday at Old Fort Western in Augusta. Garcia and his brass ensemble serenaded guests that raised awareness about the red kettles and bell ringers from the Salvation Army. Augusta Mayor Bill Stokes and Police Chief Robert Gregoire hosted the Salvation Army, which assisted 389 people during the holiday season and 808 people from Augusta during the course of the year.
