SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Maine Gov. Paul LePage plans to attend the 2011 Eastern States Exposition in Massachusetts, which bills itself as the largest fair in the Northeast.

LePage plans to visit the State of Maine building at the Springfield fair today, Maine Day, to help promote Maine products. LePage says selling Maine-grown and Maine-built is economic development that goes into every corner of the state.

The Big E also has entertainment, major exhibits, The Big E Super Circus, the Avenue of States and other attractions.

Maine became the next state after Massachusetts to erect a building along the Avenue. The exposition opened Sept. 16 and ends Sunday.
