STANDISH — A crash in Standish today sent six people to the hospital, though none
with life-threatening injuries.

A Chevrolet Suburban driven by Theresa Michaud, 42, of Scarborough was
pulling onto Richville Road from Harmon’s Beach Road at 3 p.m. when the
car was hit broadside by a full-size Chevrolet pickup headed north on
Richville Road, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

The truck was driven by Randy Baldwin of Naples. The force of the crash
drove the Suburban into the woods, the sheriff’s office says.

Michaud and her daughter, 14, and niece, 15, were taken to Maine Medical
Center with bruises and scrapes. Passengers in the pickup, Baldwin’s
wife, 38, daughter, 12, and son, 10, received cuts and bruises, the
sheriff’s office says.

Rescue units from Standish, Sebago, Gorham and Windham responded to the
crash and helped transport the injured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation but driver
inattention probably played a role, the sheriff’s office says.
