It is hard to fathom the governor’s attitude toward the mural at the Department of Labor’s reception office.
Like it or not, it beautifully represents important milestones in Maine’s history.
If Gov. Paul LePage really believes that paintings in a building would sway companies one way or another to do business in Maine, then we are in serious trouble.
If his goal is to grow Maine into a state that is “open for business,” then why be so insulting to a talented artist who (I would think) is a nonunion, independent, small businessperson. Isn’t that just the type of business he wants?
